In Conversation with Sophie Mcneill

In Conversation with Sophie Mcneill In-Person

Australian journalist, television presenter, author and human rights activist Sophie McNeill has covered some of the worst human rights violations of the 21stcentury. A former foreign correspondent and investigative reporter for ABC’sFour Corners,Sophie McNeill has received much recognition for her work in the Middle East, including three Walkley awards.

In her 2020 debut bookWe Can’t Say We Didn’t Know: Dispatches from an Age of Impunity, she tells of the valiant people behind the headlines – The people suffering from the systemic cruelty, devastation and oppression which Australia has actively contributed to in the Middle East.

More recently, Sophie has worked as a researcher for Human Rights Watch and has produced much work on climate change and environmental issues in Australia.

For one very special night, Sophie will be joining us right here in Fremantle at our very own Notre Dame University to talk about her latest human rights work and her experience as a journalist and author. There will also be time at the end for her to answer any questions you might have.

We can’t wait to see you all there!
